Depending on which analyst report you read, today Google is either the third or the fourth largest public cloud vendor, behind Amazon, Microsoft and (possibly) IBM.
Unlike Amazon and Microsoft, which both began their foray into the cloud with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offerings, Google's first public cloud service was its platform as a service (PaaS), called App Engine.
